Portable Air Conditioners For the Best Convenience
Air conditioners have spread their helping wings throughout the world, especially in countries experiencing extremely hot conditions. An air conditioner has become indispensable but with certain restrictions on price which makes it unaffordable to all. Now this barrier has been broken with portable air conditioners coming to the aid of those who find it difficult to fix air- conditioners in all the rooms of their homes.
Portable air-conditioners can be taken wherever you go since they are light weight and hence easy to take along to the room of your choice in the home or at office. They are rated in British Thermal Units and calculated in BTUs like 8000 BTU = 200 sq. ft. or 10000 BTU = 400 sq. ft.
Portable Ac are meant to dehumidify air and are used in place of fans or water coolers. Some models are used for both purposes for cooling as well as heating whenever required. It is better to choose a model that can be used for all purposes so it will be in use throughout the year.

Don't Forget Cooling For Server Rooms in Summer
In any enclosed environment where there are a lot of computers being used, including server rooms, the temperature is critical. All of the equipment has a maximum temperature at which they can operate anything above this and their efficiency is reduced or thermal shut down takes place. So it is important that server rooms are kept at a stable temperature. But it is also important that humidity, which can be a problem, is controlled at the same time.
So what this means it some kind of air conditioning is provided to the room so that a constant temperature can be maintained no matter what the conditions outside are like. Plus it needs to dehumidify the room to allow removal of any excess humidity.
The size of the air conditioning system used in a server room should be of a capacity that can cope not only removing the heat generated by the computer equipment in the room but also natural heat energy. Also as this equipment is in use 24 hours a day, 7 days a week it must be a unit that has been designed with a continuous rating rather than those that are used for domestic use and will only be used infrequently.

How Does an Air Conditioner Work
We often take air conditioning for granted. We simply flip a switch or turn a knob, and eventually the house or office temperature drops. Portable room air conditioners offer even greater flexibility when it comes to cooling specific rooms around the house, lowering the heat anywhere you place it. Knowing how air conditioners work can help you make a great selection when it comes to choosing a portable room air conditioner.
Although there are air conditioners that come in small to very large sizes, they all function based on the same idea. An air conditioner takes the hot air from inside a building and removes it to outside the building through a hose that is attached to a partially opened window or a hole placed in the wall. A fan is used to bring the hot air in the room into the air conditioning unit, and that hot air flows over an evaporator coil. The coil is filled with refrigerant, which absorbs the heat from the air. Now that the air is cool, it flows back into the room through the front air vents on the air conditioner because a fan pushes the cool air out. The heat leaves the room through the hose vent to the outdoors, or to a second section of the unit, which is found in a split unit.
Some air conditioners are also dehumidifiers. This means that the unit takes the excess water from the air in the room, making the effects of high humidity lessen. The water taken in also helps to cool the unit. The unit can cause the water to evaporate due to the hot air taken in, and this type of air conditioner has no tank that will need to be emptied. Other units use the condensed moisture to improve the unit's efficiency, in a method called condensate cooling.
